Plymouth Division RMVCC

Training in the Historic Home of the Royal Marines

Established in 1904, Plymouth Division is based at the historic Stonehouse Barracks, home of the Royal Marines for more than two centuries.

The unit carries forward a rich tradition of cadet training in a city synonymous with naval and military history. Generations of cadets have developed leadership, discipline and confidence while benefiting from strong links to the Royal Marines and wider community.

Develop the Commando Spirit

Royal Marines Cadet Training challenges young people to develop the resilience, confidence and determination that have defined the Royal Marines for generations. Inspired by the Corps' values and ethos, cadets learn to lead, work as a team and overcome challenges while building skills for life.

Cadets take part in a progressive training programme that includes fieldcraft, navigation, leadership, first aid, physical development, drill and ceremonial, adventure training and community engagement. Every activity is designed to build confidence, self-discipline and teamwork in a safe, supportive and rewarding environment.

Training extends beyond the classroom, with opportunities to attend camps, expeditions, field exercises and visits to Royal Marines establishments. Cadets experience the traditions and heritage of the Corps while embracing new challenges and developing lifelong friendships.

Whether tackling an adventure training exercise, competing in Field Gun, taking part in ceremonial events or leading their team through an outdoor challenge, Royal Marines cadets learn the importance of courage, commitment, respect, integrity and selfless service.

Challenge yourself. Lead with confidence. Be Worthy.
