Based at HMS Sultan in Gosport, the unit has long provided a home for young people seeking challenge, friendship and development through a naval-themed cadet experience. HMS Sultan's reputation as a centre for engineering excellence is reflected in the unit's focus on problem-solving, teamwork and leadership, helping cadets build confidence and skills for life.
Royal Naval Cadet Training is at the heart of the Royal Naval Volunteer Cadet Corps, introducing young people to the traditions, values and skills of the Royal Navy through exciting, hands-on experiences.
Cadets follow a progressive training programme covering seamanship, navigation, ropework, signalling, maritime knowledge and naval history, while developing leadership, confidence and teamwork. Training is practical, engaging and designed to challenge cadets while helping them build skills for life.
Alongside naval training, cadets take part in boating and afloat activities, first aid, adventure training, drill and ceremonial, STEM, fieldcraft and community projects. Visits to Royal Navy establishments and ships provide unique opportunities to experience the Senior Service first-hand.
Every activity is designed to develop resilience, responsibility and character, empowering cadets to grow in confidence, make lasting friendships and embrace new challenges.
Join the adventure. Discover the sea. Be Worthy.
