The latest batch of recruits for the Royal Naval Cadets at HMS Excellent, the VCC’s newest unit, enjoyed a fun packed weekend of naval and field training as they completed stage 2 of their recruit training.  In addition to a visit to the state ceremonial gun carriage and a tour of the wardroom the cadets undertook some basic field skills and spent a night under canvass.

The recruits were then presented with their new VCC epaulette slides by the 2IC of Portsmouth VCC, Capt (VCC) Chris Spratt, and now look forward to stage 3 and fine tuning their drill skills as they head towards their ceremonial pass out parade in mid-July.
