The Commander of the VCC, Lt Col (VCC) Chris Spratt hosted Brigadier Anthony Lamb MBE DL, the new Head of Youth & Cadets in UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), for his first visit to the Volunteer Cadet Corps today.

He met cadets, recruits and adult volunteers on exercise on Browndown Training Area in Gosport, and received a briefing about our organisation in Headquarters VCC based at HMS Sultan.

Lt Col Spratt said: “I am delighted that Brig Lamb was also able to join our new recruits out on the training area from across 5 of our Units in the Southern Region and to see some of the training we deliver to our Royal Navy and Royal Marines Cadets and meet some of our senior staff that make a difference to the lives of many across the organisation”

In his role as Head of Youth & Cadets, Brigadier Lamb oversees the strategic direction of the five MOD-sponsored cadet forces – the Sea Cadet Corps, the Volunteer Cadet Corps, the Combined Cadet Force, the Army Cadet Force, and the Air Training Corps – consisting of 120,110 cadets and 27,470 adult volunteers.
