New Recruits Join Portsmouth

Published on 4th October 2016

Over 50 boys and girls have joined the Portsmouth Division of the RMVCC this week during induction sessions across two evenings.  This is the largest intake of new recuits the VCC has had in recent years, and as well as Royal Marines Cadets there were also a number of Royal Naval Cadets who are contributing to the standing-up again of HMS Excellent RNVCC, closed in the mid-1980s.

“I’m delighted that this new intake is joining the VCC at such an exciting time for our organisation and proves that the VCC is growing from strength to strength” said CO, Lt Col Terry Wing RMC.

The new recruits are now embarking on a 4 to 5 month basic training period before ‘passing out’ for duty in early 2017.
